Unstoppable’ Another Deserved Hat-trick of Research Awards for Dr Ramatsetse

A researcher and lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering has begun 2024 with three high-profile achievements. Dr Boitumelo Ramatsetse was awarded the National Research Foundation Emerging Researcher Award in August 2024, was also awarded the Faculty of Engineering Early Career/Emerging Researcher Award in October 2024, followed by the Stellenbosch University Research & Innovation Early Career Award also in October 2024. Dr Ramatsetse is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University.

The Stellenbosch University Research & Innovation Early Career Award is given to early-career researchers at Stellenbosch University who demonstrate exceptional research outputs and innovation potential. The awardees are selected based on a strict criteria of high-quality research outputs, such as peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or other recognized contributions to the academic community.

I am deeply grateful to receive the three prestigious Early Career/Emerging Researcher Awards from National Research Foundation, Faculty of Engineering and Stellenbosch University respectively. These awards serve a motivation to continue pursuing research that aims to advance understanding complex issues in manufacturing as well as developing innovative reconfigurable machine solutions for industry. I am excited to build on this foundation, contribute further to the innovative research and impactful research in service of society,” said Dr Ramatsetse, who also received R300 000 research grant to support Y-Rated Researchers from NRF in the same.
